Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Sales Engineering to lead our technical sales team. In this pivotal role, you will drive the technical sales strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives while empowering our engineering teams to deliver exceptional solutions to clients. Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to define technical sales strategies and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Oversee the creation and delivery of technical presentations, demonstrations, and proofs of concept to showcase our solutions effectively.
- Act as a key technical liaison between customers and internal teams, addressing complex technical questions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Drive the continuous improvement of sales engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including product management, engineering, and executive leadership.
- Analyze market trends and customer feedback to inform product development and positioning strategies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in sales engineering or technical sales roles, with a proven track record of leadership.
- Strong technical background, with experience in software development, cloud technologies, and enterprise solutions.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaboration across departments.
Preferred:
- Experience in a high-growth technology environment or startup.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, sales enablement platforms, and technical documentation.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant technical fields.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of cloud computing, SaaS, and enterprise software solutions.
- Experience with API integrations, microservices architecture, and system design principles.
- Proficiency in using analytics tools to measure sales performance and customer engagement.
