Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate Rangelands Conservation Manager to lead our efforts in sustaining and restoring rangeland ecosystems. In this pivotal role, you will design and implement conservation strategies that balance ecological health with community needs, ensuring the longevity of our natural resources.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive rangeland management plans that enhance biodiversity and ecosystem functionality
- Collaborate with local stakeholders, including ranchers, landowners, and community groups, to promote sustainable land use practices
- Conduct assessments of rangeland health and resilience, utilizing monitoring tools and ecological indicators
- Lead habitat restoration projects, focusing on invasive species management and native plant reestablishment
- Facilitate educational workshops and outreach programs to raise awareness about rangeland conservation
- Advocate for policy changes that support sustainable rangeland management at local and regional levels
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Range Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in conservation management, with a focus on rangeland ecosystems
- Strong understanding of ecological principles and land management practices
Preferred:
- Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations in conservation initiatives
- Familiarity with GIS and other mapping tools for land management
- Proven ability to secure funding through grants and partnerships
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in data analysis and ecological modeling software
