Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Radiology Transcriptionist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the transcription of radiological reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the highest quality standards while leading a team of transcriptionists. You will play a critical role in enhancing workflow efficiency and fostering a culture of excellence within our transcription department.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of radiology transcriptionists, providing training and support to promote continuous improvement and professional development.
- Review and edit radiology reports for accuracy, clarity, and completeness, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement best practices for transcription processes, including quality control measures and workflow optimization.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals to clarify report discrepancies and improve overall report quality.
- Utilize transcription software and tools effectively to enhance productivity and maintain high-quality output.
- Analyze transcription metrics and provide feedback to team members to drive performance improvements.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in radiology transcription, with a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, especially related to radiology and imaging.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing a team of transcriptionists.
- Proficiency with transcription software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred:
- Certification from recognized medical transcription organizations (e.g., AHDI).
- Experience with quality assurance processes in transcription.
- Familiarity with voice recognition software and its integration into transcription workflows.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in radiology transcription practices and procedures.
- Proficient with transcription tools, such as speech recognition software and editing platforms.
- Experience with EHR systems and medical coding practices.
