Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Transcription Supervisor to lead our transcription team in delivering high-quality and accurate medical documentation. In this role, you will oversee the transcription process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and enhancing workflow efficiency, while acting as a liaison between healthcare providers and transcriptionists.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the medical transcription team, ensuring adherence to quality and turnaround time standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits and provide constructive feedback to transcriptionists to promote continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement training programs for new hires and ongoing education for current staff on best practices in medical transcription.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify unclear documentation and ensure accuracy in transcriptions.
- Manage workflow and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Stay updated on changes in medical terminology and transcription technology to maintain a high level of service.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in medical transcription, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Proficient in transcription software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred:
- Certification as a Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT) or Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT).
- Experience with voice recognition technology and its integration into transcription workflows.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in medical transcription software and editing tools.
- Experience with EHR systems and dictation software.
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes and metrics relevant to transcription services.
