Role Overview
We are seeking a Public Health Nutrition Program Manager to lead the development and implementation of nutrition programs aimed at improving community health outcomes. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to design evidence-based strategies, assess community needs, and collaborate with various stakeholders to advocate for effective public health nutrition policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of public health nutrition initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community health needs.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of community nutrition needs and develop targeted interventions that promote healthy eating and improve nutritional status.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organizations to foster partnerships that enhance service delivery and program outreach.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness using metrics and data analysis to inform ongoing improvements and report outcomes to stakeholders.
- Develop educational materials and training programs for community health workers and stakeholders to enhance knowledge of nutrition best practices.
- Advocate for policies and funding that support public health nutrition initiatives at local, state, and federal levels.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in public health or nutrition program management, including experience with community engagement and outreach.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition science, public health principles, and health disparities.
- Proven ability to develop and implement evidence-based programs and evaluate their impact.
Preferred:
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding the social determinants of health.
- Familiarity with grant writing and management processes.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS, or equivalent).
- Experience with program management software and databases.
- Knowledge of food systems, dietary guidelines, and public policy frameworks.
