Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Protohistorian to join our dynamic research team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in ancient cultures and archaeological methodologies to investigate and interpret protohistoric periods, contributing to our understanding of human development and cultural evolution. Your work will be essential in shaping our publications, exhibitions, and educational programs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive research on protohistoric societies, focusing on their cultural, social, and technological developments.
- Analyze archaeological findings and historical texts to draw conclusions about the daily lives, customs, and interactions of ancient peoples.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate findings into broader historical narratives and presentations.
- Prepare detailed reports and academic papers for publication, sharing insights with the academic community and the public.
- Participate in fieldwork and excavation projects, providing expertise and guiding the interpretation of findings.
- Engage with stakeholders, including educational institutions and museums, to develop programs and resources that promote public understanding of protohistory.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- PhD in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or a related field with a focus on protohistoric studies.
- Demonstrated experience in archaeological fieldwork and research methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information from varied sources.
Preferred:
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals related to protohistory or adjacent disciplines.
