Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Position Classification Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing position classification systems and policies that align with our organizational goals and compliance regulations. Your expertise will ensure that we maintain equitable job classifications and compensation structures to attract and retain top talent.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement classification frameworks that align with organizational needs and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular job audits and evaluations to ensure position classifications are accurate and compliant.
- Collaborate with HR leaders and departmental managers to analyze job descriptions and recommend appropriate classifications.
- Provide guidance and training to HR staff and managers on classification processes and policies.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive job classification database, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for stakeholders.
- Stay informed of industry trends and legal requirements related to position classification and compensation.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership regarding classification practices and their impact on workforce planning.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in job classification, compensation analysis, or related HR field.
- Strong understanding of job evaluation methodologies and classification systems.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing classification frameworks in a complex organization.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Preferred:
- Experience with HRIS systems and classification software.
- Professional certification in compensation or job evaluation (e.g., CCP, GRP).
- Knowledge of labor laws and regulations affecting job classification and pay practices.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and HRIS platforms.
- Strong Excel skills for data management and reporting.
- Familiarity with classification software and job evaluation methodologies.
