Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Project Management Office (PMO) to lead our organization's project management initiatives. In this executive role, you will be responsible for establishing a robust project governance framework, enhancing the efficiency of project delivery, and fostering a culture of excellence across all project teams. You'll collaborate closely with senior leadership to align project outcomes with our strategic objectives, ensuring that we deliver exceptional value to our stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive project management strategy that aligns with organizational goals and drives efficiency across all projects.
- Lead the PMO team in establishing project management best practices, methodologies, and standards to enhance project delivery and performance.
- Oversee the portfolio of projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, risks are managed, and timelines are met.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Provide thought leadership and guidance to senior executives on project prioritization, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
- Monitor and report on project performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the PMO and across project teams.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a PMO environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred:
- Experience in industries such as technology, finance, or healthcare.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or equivalent.
- Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in project management tools and software, including JIRA, Trello, and Microsoft Project.
