Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and visionary Portfolio Director to lead and manage our diverse portfolio of projects and initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for aligning our project portfolio with the company's strategic goals and objectives, ensuring optimal resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. As a thought leader, you will drive innovation and best practices across the organization, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement portfolio management strategies that align with organizational objectives and drive growth.
- Oversee the entire portfolio lifecycle, from project initiation through execution and closure, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, to communicate portfolio performance and insights.
- Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies, proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges.
- Mentor and develop project managers and teams to enhance their capabilities and foster professional growth.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, integrating lessons learned into future portfolio planning and execution.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in portfolio management or related fields, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and programs.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in financial management and budget oversight.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in business administration, project management, or a related field.
- Experience in managing portfolios in a technology-driven environment.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar tools).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks.
