Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Assistant Plant Chief who will play a critical role in supporting the Plant Chief in managing plant operations. This position focuses on ensuring operational efficiency, adherence to safety protocols, and the overall enhancement of production processes within the facility. You will be instrumental in driving key initiatives that align with our mission to deliver high-quality products while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Plant Chief in overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Support the implementation of production schedules and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to the development of strategies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices in manufacturing processes.
- Lead and mentor plant staff, encouraging professional development and a culture of accountability.
- Participate in the development of budgets and financial forecasts to ensure effective resource management.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations management.
- Strong understanding of operational excellence methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven ability to analyze complex data and drive process improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with supply chain management principles and practices.
- Certifications in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and manufacturing software solutions.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations pertinent to manufacturing operations.
