Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Plant Operations to oversee and optimize our manufacturing processes across our network of facilities. In this fully remote leadership role, you will be responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will provide visionary leadership to plant managers and operational teams while collaborating closely with executive leadership to align operational strategies with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall strategy and execution of plant operations, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple facilities, implementing best practices in manufacturing and operational excellence.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation.
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and compliance throughout all manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering, to optimize production workflows and resolve operational challenges.
- Mentor and develop plant management teams, promoting leadership development and operational skills.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in plant operations or manufacturing management, with a proven track record of driving operational improvements.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement processes.
- Experience in budget management and resource allocation in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex operational data to inform strategic decision-making.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Knowledge of data analytics tools and methodologies to assess operational performance.
- Experience with automation technologies and their integration into manufacturing processes.
