Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Pit Supervisor to oversee operations in our pit area, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with all regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining productivity and quality while leading a diverse team of operators and technicians.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily pit operations, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures
- Monitor equipment performance and implement maintenance protocols to minimize downtime
- Conduct regular inspections of the pit area to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Coordinate with management to optimize production processes and achieve operational targets
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to enhance skill sets and performance
- Prepare and maintain reports on production metrics, safety incidents, and operational efficiency
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role within a mining or pit operation environment
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry best practices
- Proven ability to lead teams effectively and drive operational excellence
Preferred:
- Certification in safety management or relevant industry standards
- Experience with data analysis tools to monitor production efficiency
- Background in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with mining equipment and operations management software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for reporting and analysis
- Understanding of environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies
