Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Pharmacy Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic pharmacy team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of the pharmacy laboratory, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies
- Supervise and mentor laboratory technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Implement and optimize laboratory procedures, enhancing efficiency and quality of service
- Coordinate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely medication preparation and dispensing
- Manage inventory, ordering, and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on laboratory best practices and safety protocols
- Act as the primary point of contact for laboratory-related inquiries and issues
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a pharmacy laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical compounding, lab procedures, and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex workflows in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, or a related field
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control practices in a laboratory setting
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures, including sterile compounding and drug preparation
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software and electronic health records (EHR)
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret lab results and data
