Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Personal Care Supervisor to lead and oversee a team of personal care assistants in delivering high-quality care to our clients. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our clients receive compassionate and effective support while promoting their dignity and independence. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of personal care assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with care standards and best practices
- Conduct regular assessments of client needs and update care plans accordingly, adapting to changes in health status and preferences
- Facilitate training and development sessions for personal care staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in client care
- Monitor the delivery of care services, ensuring that quality standards are met and clients receive appropriate support
- Act as a liaison between clients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care and address any concerns
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client care activities and staff performance evaluations
- Implement and uphold safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal care or a related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Current certification as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or equivalent credential
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the personal care industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and staff
Preferred:
- Experience in developing and implementing client care plans
- Training in gerontology or a related field
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting
- Familiarity with EHR systems for tracking client progress and care plans
- Basic knowledge of telehealth technologies for virtual client consultations
