Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pension Compliance Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our pension plans adhere to federal regulations and industry best practices, while providing strategic guidance to enhance our compliance framework. Your expertise will help safeguard the interests of our employees and the integrity of our pension offerings.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the compliance of pension plans with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations, ensuring timely filings and disclosures.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are communicated and adhered to across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, finance, and legal, to align on compliance strategies and risk management.
- Provide training and support to staff on pension compliance issues and best practices.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on existing pension plans, making recommendations for necessary adjustments.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in pension compliance or a similar role, with a deep understanding of pension regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey compliance concepts to non-experts.
Preferred:
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Pension Consultant, Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) is a plus.
- Experience with compliance management software and tools.
- Familiarity with pension plan design and administration.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with compliance-related software solutions.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations impacting pension data.
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment.
