Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Pension Manager to lead our pension administration team in managing retirement plans and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. In this fully remote role, you will oversee the entire pension process, from plan design and implementation to administration and communication with participants.
Responsibilities
- Lead the administration of pension plans, ensuring timely processing of contributions, distributions, and compliance with federal and state regulations
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for pension management, enhancing operational efficiency and participant experience
- Evaluate and select service providers, maintaining strong relationships to ensure quality service delivery
- Conduct regular audits of pension plans to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies
- Prepare and present reports on pension plan performance, trends, and issues to senior management and stakeholders
- Serve as a subject matter expert on pension regulations, providing guidance and training to internal teams and stakeholders
- Oversee participant communications, ensuring clarity and compliance in all communications
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in pension administration or retirement plan management
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and other applicable laws governing pension plans
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams
- Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy
Preferred:
- Professional certifications such as Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA)
- Experience with pension administration software and technology solutions
- Knowledge of investment strategies related to pension funds
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in pension administration software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with data analytics tools to assess plan performance and participant trends
- Understanding of investment management principles and pension fund valuation
