Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Pediatric Nursing to lead our dedicated team in delivering exceptional healthcare services to children and their families. This pivotal role combines clinical expertise with strategic leadership to enhance pediatric nursing practices across our organization, ensuring that we meet the highest standards of care and compassion.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the pediatric nursing department, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of pediatric nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional development and enhancing clinical competencies through training and education programs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care, enhance outcomes, and drive initiatives that improve the patient and family experience.
- Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resource allocation effectively to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability.
- Engage with community stakeholders and advocate for pediatric health initiatives that support the needs of children and families.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current RN licensure in good standing.
- 10+ years of progressive nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a pediatric setting.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical or administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric nursing standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred:
- Doctorate in Nursing or relevant healthcare field.
- Certification in pediatric nursing or nursing administration (e.g., CPN, NE-BC).
- Experience with telehealth services and innovations in pediatric care delivery.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare informatics.
- Strong analytical skills to assess data and drive clinical decision-making.
- Experience with performance improvement methodologies and quality assurance processes.
