Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Laboratory Services to lead and optimize our laboratory operations. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, quality, and service delivery.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of laboratory professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Manage budgeting, resource allocation, and performance metrics to align with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to integrate laboratory services with overall patient care strategies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure the laboratory remains at the forefront of innovation.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in laboratory management, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance processes.
- Proven ability to lead change management initiatives and drive operational excellence.
Preferred:
- PhD in a relevant field.
- Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and data analytics.
- Demonstrated success in implementing Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in a laboratory setting.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in laboratory operations, clinical diagnostics, and molecular biology techniques.
- Proficient in data analysis tools and laboratory management software.
- Strong understanding of laboratory accreditation standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
