Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Parts Manager to oversee the parts department within our organization. This role encompasses the management of inventory, procurement, and distribution of parts, ensuring that we meet the operational needs of our service team and our customers effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory
- Manage the procurement process for parts, including vendor selection, negotiation, and order placement
- Oversee the logistics of parts distribution, ensuring timely delivery to service departments and customers
- Utilize data analytics to forecast parts demand and adjust inventory strategies accordingly
- Lead and mentor a team of parts personnel, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with service technicians and management to identify parts needs and ensure availability
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in parts management or a related field, preferably within the automotive or machinery sector
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices
- Proficient in utilizing inventory management software and systems
- Excellent negotiation skills and vendor management experience
