Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Paralegal Studies to lead our academic programs in paralegal education. This role will be critical in shaping the curriculum, enhancing student engagement, and ensuring our programs meet the evolving demands of the legal profession. You will collaborate with faculty, industry professionals, and stakeholders to create a dynamic learning environment that prepares students for successful careers in law.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the paralegal studies curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Lead the recruitment, training, and development of faculty and staff within the Paralegal Studies department.
- Foster partnerships with legal organizations, law firms, and industry leaders to enhance experiential learning opportunities for students.
- Monitor and assess program outcomes, utilizing data to inform program improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Engage with students and alumni to promote a supportive learning community and facilitate career placement opportunities.
- Advocate for the paralegal studies program within the institution and at external events, promoting its value and impact on the legal community.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in legal studies, education, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in paralegal education or a related academic setting.
- Strong understanding of the legal profession, including current trends and challenges facing paralegals.
- Proven track record of curriculum development and program management.
Preferred:
- Doctorate in a relevant field.
- Experience in online education and digital learning methodologies.
- Active involvement in professional legal associations or organizations.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and educational technology tools.
