Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Professor of Paleology to join our esteemed faculty. In this role, you will engage in cutting-edge research and teaching in the field of paleontology, contributing to the academic community through innovative scholarship and mentorship of students.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate courses in paleology, emphasizing both theoretical concepts and practical applications
- Conduct original research in paleontological studies, focusing on the evolution, behavior, and ecology of prehistoric organisms
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences
- Mentor and supervise graduate students and undergraduate research projects

- Contribute to departmental service, including committee work and outreach efforts
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Paleontology, Geology, Biology, or a related field
- Demonstrated research productivity, including publications in reputable journals
- Prior teaching experience at the university level, with a focus on paleology or closely related subjects
Preferred:
- Experience with fieldwork and fossil preparation techniques
- Familiarity with advanced data analysis and modeling methods in paleontology
- Strong record of securing research funding
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using geological and paleontological software tools for research and analysis
- Experience with GIS and remote sensing technologies in paleontological studies
- Ability to utilize laboratory equipment and methodologies for fossil analysis
