Role Overview
We are seeking a distinguished scholar to assume the role of Endowed Chair in Ethnoarchaeology. This position is designed for an individual with a robust research portfolio and a commitment to advancing the field through innovative teaching and community engagement. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of interdisciplinary research initiatives and foster collaborations across the university and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct cutting-edge research in ethnoarchaeology, producing high-quality publications and contributions to the academic community.
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in ethnoarchaeology, archaeological theory, and related fields.
- Mentor graduate students and junior faculty, providing guidance on research, publication, and career development.
- Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to develop interdisciplinary research projects and community engagement initiatives.
- Seek external funding to support research endeavors and contribute to the university’s mission of academic excellence.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work, outreach programs, and public engagement.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field.
- A proven record of significant research contributions in ethnoarchaeology and related areas.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level.
- Experience in securing research funding from external sources.
Preferred:

- Experience in community-based research and public archaeology.
