Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and highly skilled PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional postoperative care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery. Your expertise will ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care during this critical recovery phase.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their condition post-surgery to ensure a safe recovery
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and manage pain relief protocols
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding postoperative care and recovery
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document all patient care activities accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records
- Respond promptly to any changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Current RN license in [$COMPANY_LOCATION]
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PACU, ICU, or similar critical care environment
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Preferred:
- Experience with pediatric or geriatric populations in a postoperative setting
- Certification in Post Anesthesia Care Nursing (CPAN) or similar
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using EHR systems for patient documentation and communication
- Knowledge of pain management techniques and anesthetic agents
- Ability to utilize monitoring equipment effectively in a PACU setting
