Role Overview
As a Junior Orthopedic Technician, you'll play a critical role in supporting orthopedic care teams by assisting in the preparation and fitting of orthopedic devices, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care. You will work closely with experienced technicians and orthopedic specialists to develop your skills in device fabrication, patient interaction, and technical problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the fitting and adjustment of orthopedic devices such as braces and splints under the supervision of senior technicians.
- Prepare materials and equipment needed for orthopedic procedures and device fabrication.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to orthopedic treatments and device fittings.
- Support the orthopedic team in managing inventory and ensuring that all supplies are adequately stocked.
- Participate in patient education, providing instructions on the use and care of orthopedic devices.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of anatomy and orthopedic terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in orthopedics or sports medicine.
