Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Supervisor of Orthopedic Manufacturing to lead our production team in the development of high-quality orthopedic devices. In this role, you will oversee the manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence and enhancing product quality.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards for orthopedic devices
- Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing technicians, providing training and guidance to enhance their skills and performance
- Implement and monitor production metrics to drive efficiency and productivity improvements
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to address production challenges and enhance product design
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements in the manufacturing process
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflows
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within the orthopedic or medical device industry
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and regulatory requirements
Preferred:
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools for production planning and tracking
- Certification in Six Sigma or similar quality management framework
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of orthopedic manufacturing processes and materials
- Familiarity with CAD software and design processes for orthopedic devices
- Experience with ERP systems for managing production workflows
