Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Orthodontist Assistant to join our innovative dental practice. In this pivotal role, you will provide critical support to our orthodontic team, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care while also assisting in the smooth operation of our office. Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist in diagnosing and developing treatment plans for patients, ensuring comprehensive care and optimal outcomes
- Manage patient records, including treatment documentation and progress tracking, while adhering to privacy regulations
- Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures, providing reassurance and detailed instructions to alleviate anxiety
- Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure that all orthodontic instruments and equipment are in excellent working condition
- Coordinate with administrative staff to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively
- Lead and mentor junior assistants, fostering a collaborative and educational environment within the practice
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Certification as an orthodontic assistant or equivalent certification
- 3+ years of experience in orthodontics, with a proven track record of supporting orthodontic procedures
- Strong understanding of orthodontic terminology, procedures, and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
Preferred:
- Experience with digital orthodontic technologies, including 3D imaging and treatment planning software
- Leadership experience in a dental setting, with a focus on team development and patient care
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in orthodontic software and imaging systems
- Strong organizational skills for managing patient records and appointments
- Familiarity with sterilization techniques and infection control protocols
