Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent Ornamental Ironworker to lead and oversee our ornamental ironwork projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You will serve as the primary point of contact between clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of ornamental ironwork projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations
- Lead on-site crews, providing guidance and oversight to ensure craftsmanship and safety standards are met
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contracts to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality, addressing any issues that arise promptly
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure projects are completed within scope
- Facilitate communication between clients, subcontractors, and the internal team to foster collaboration and resolve conflicts
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in ornamental ironworking, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Thorough understanding of structural steel and ornamental iron fabrication and installation techniques
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Preferred:
- Experience with CAD software and project management tools
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in ornamental ironwork fabrication, including welding and machining processes
- Familiarity with construction management software and tools
- Understanding of structural engineering principles as they relate to ornamental ironwork
