Role Overview
The Assistant Nursing Service Director will play a critical role in overseeing nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and supporting the Nursing Service Director in strategic planning and implementation of nursing standards. This position requires a deep understanding of healthcare regulations, nursing practices, and leadership within a clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of nursing policies, procedures, and standards that comply with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Nursing Service Director to manage nursing staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee patient care delivery, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Monitor and analyze patient care metrics; implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve operational goals.
- Participate in budget planning and resource allocation to ensure efficient use of facilities and staff.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license.
- 5+ years of progressive nursing experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Certification in Nursing Administration (e.g., CNML, NE-BC).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and healthcare management software.
