Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our leadership team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with the Director of Nursing to oversee nursing operations and ensure the highest standards of patient care are maintained across our facilities. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping nursing practices and fostering a culture of excellence within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in the overall management of nursing services, including staffing, budgeting, and policy development
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and uphold the standards of practice within the nursing department
- Lead and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional development and a culture of continuous improvement
- Coordinate and participate in quality assurance initiatives, including patient safety and performance improvement programs
- Facilitate effective communication between nursing staff and other departments to enhance patient care
- Oversee patient care delivery, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and protocols
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Current RN license in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of nursing regulations and standards
- Proven experience in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree preferred
- Experience in a complex healthcare environment
- Certification in Nursing Administration (e.g., CNAA, NE-BC)
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare management software
- Understanding of data analysis and reporting to inform decision-making
- Ability to implement and manage clinical protocols and guidelines
