Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Network Operations to lead our network infrastructure and operations team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our network systems, while also driving innovation and operational excellence across the organization.
Responsibilities
Network Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive network strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of network engineers and operations professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and management of network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, VPN, and cloud networking solutions.
Operational Excellence:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for network performance, reliability, and security.
- Implement best practices for incident management, change management, and capacity planning to ensure optimal network operations.
- Drive troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues, leveraging analytical skills and industry-leading tools.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage vendor relationships for network services and equipment, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network initiatives with broader business objectives and ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in network operations, with a proven track record of leadership in a similar role.
- Expertise in network architecture, design, and implementation across various technologies.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, compliance standards, and best practices in network security.
Preferred:
- Experience with cloud networking solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale network projects and initiatives.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security technologies.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar.
- Knowledge of SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and network automation tools.
