Role Overview
We are seeking a Sales Engineering Manager specializing in Missile Navigation Systems to lead our technical sales team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering and sales, leveraging your deep technical knowledge to drive business growth in the defense sector. You will be responsible for guiding the team in delivering exceptional technical support and ensuring the successful development and execution of sales strategies for complex navigation solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of sales engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine technical sales strategies and product demonstrations for missile navigation systems
- Engage directly with clients to identify their needs, articulate solutions, and address technical inquiries
- Conduct thorough competitive analysis and market research to position products effectively within the landscape
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of high-impact proposals and presentations, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company capabilities
- Drive the development of technical documentation and training materials to support the sales team and customer onboarding
- Utilize metrics and feedback to continuously improve sales processes and team performance
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in sales engineering or technical sales, preferably in defense or aerospace industries
- Proven track record of successfully managing a technical sales team and driving revenue growth
- Strong understanding of missile navigation systems, including sensors, algorithms, and integration
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience with government contracts and defense procurement processes
- Established relationships within the defense industry and key stakeholders
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in missile guidance and control systems, GPS technology, and inertial navigation systems
- Proficient in advanced modeling and simulation tools relevant to navigation systems
- Familiarity with relevant software and hardware platforms used in missile navigation
