Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Satellite Systems Manager to lead our satellite systems engineering team in the development, integration, and operation of advanced satellite systems. This role is crucial in driving innovation and ensuring the efficacy of our satellite projects, aimed at transforming how we utilize space technology for global connectivity and data solutions.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
- Lead the satellite systems engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for satellite system development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.
- Oversee the lifecycle of satellite systems from concept through deployment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
Technical Oversight:
- Architect and implement cutting-edge satellite communication systems, leveraging technologies such as RF, digital signal processing, and embedded systems.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure integration of components and systems, identifying and mitigating risks throughout the lifecycle.
- Conduct thorough systems analysis and performance evaluations to optimize satellite operations and enhance system reliability.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to communicate project status, technical requirements, and strategic directives.
- Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in satellite systems engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex satellite projects.
- Strong understanding of satellite communication systems, payload design, and orbital mechanics.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
Preferred:
- PhD in a relevant field.
- Experience with satellite launch operations and ground control systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance related to satellite systems.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in satellite communications, RF design, and signal processing.
- Proficient in systems modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, STK).
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
