Role Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Orderly to join our innovative team, committed to providing exceptional care and support to individuals facing mental health challenges. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a safe environment, facilitating therapeutic activities, and assisting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality mental health services.
Responsibilities
- Support the daily operations of the mental health facility by assisting patients with personal care, daily living activities, and emotional support.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any significant changes to the healthcare team, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
- Facilitate therapeutic groups and activities designed to promote socialization, coping skills, and engagement in treatment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans and contribute to the overall treatment process.
- Assist in the management of crisis situations, employing de-escalation techniques and ensuring patient safety at all times.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification in mental health or related field preferred.
- Experience in a mental health setting or related healthcare environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and ethical standards in healthcare.
Preferred:
- Additional certifications in mental health first aid, crisis intervention, or behavioral health.
- Previous experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices in mental health treatment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using EHR systems and other healthcare software for documentation and patient management.
- Basic knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions used in mental health care.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms to support remote patient interactions.
