Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Lead Medical Orderly to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the daily operations of the orderly staff, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety are maintained throughout the facility. Your leadership and expertise will significantly contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our medical services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the orderly staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and protocols
- Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes of patients, maintaining accurate records and communication
- Implement and monitor cleaning and infection control procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to support patient care and address any operational challenges
- Conduct regular training sessions for orderlies to enhance skills and knowledge in patient handling and safety
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and operational efficiency
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in healthcare is preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a healthcare setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and hospital procedures
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Experience in a lead or supervisory position within a hospital or clinical setting
- Knowledge of safety regulations and infection control protocols
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using healthcare management software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Familiarity with medical equipment and patient handling techniques
- Ability to interpret and implement healthcare policies and procedures effectively
