Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Assistant Professor of Medical Physics to join our esteemed academic institution. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality lectures, laboratory sessions, and seminars in medical physics, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and practices.
- Conduct cutting-edge research in medical physics, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at professional conferences.
- Supervise and mentor graduate students and junior researchers, fostering an environment of academic excellence and innovation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance the integration of physics in clinical settings and develop new technologies for patient treatment.
- Engage in service activities within the department and the broader academic community, contributing to curriculum development and institutional initiatives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- PhD in Medical Physics or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Strong research background with a record of published work in medical physics.
- Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or an equivalent.
Preferred:
- Experience in clinical medical physics environments and familiarity with radiation therapy, diagnostic imaging, or nuclear medicine.
- Proven ability to secure research funding and manage grant proposals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to student success and diversity.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in medical imaging techniques and radiation therapy technologies.
- Experience with Monte Carlo simulations and computational modeling in medical physics.
- Familiarity with software tools used for data analysis, image processing, and treatment planning.
