Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our innovative engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development and implementation of cutting-edge mechanical systems and solutions, driving technological advancements while ensuring optimal performance and reliability across all engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical systems and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project specifications, timelines, and budgets, while effectively managing resources
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to optimize product design and functionality
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technologists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Implement best practices in mechanical design and engineering processes to enhance efficiency and quality
- Coordinate with suppliers and external partners to source materials and components that meet project requirements
- Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and project updates to stakeholders
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design and technology
- Proven track record of leading complex engineering projects from conception to completion
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and materials science
- Demonstrated ability to utilize CAD software and simulation tools for design and analysis
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
- Experience in project management methodologies and leading cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA)
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools
- Knowledge of prototyping and manufacturing techniques, including additive manufacturing
- Understanding of control systems and automation technology
