Role Overview
We are searching for a dedicated MDS Coordinator to join our team, responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the quality of resident assessments in accordance with the Minimum Data Set (MDS) guidelines. In this role, you will play a critical part in enhancing the quality of care for our residents by ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication across interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the completion of MDS assessments and ensure timely submissions to regulatory agencies
- Review and analyze MDS data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for quality improvement
- Provide training and support to nursing staff on MDS completion and documentation standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans based on MDS results
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding MDS assessments
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives related to MDS processes
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on MDS coordination or similar roles
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to MDS and long-term care
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred:
- Certification in MDS assessment (e.g., RNAC or RAC-CT)
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in EHR and MDS software applications
- Experience with data analysis tools to interpret MDS results
