Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of logging equipment. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the operational efficiency and safety of our logging machinery by implementing best practices in maintenance and leading a team of technicians.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the maintenance team, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of work and safety.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of logging equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues proactively.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve equipment functionality and efficiency.
- Manage inventory and procurement of maintenance supplies and parts, ensuring cost-effective purchasing.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair histories.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance supervision, particularly with logging or heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems related to logging machinery.
- Proven ability to lead a diverse team and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting equipment issues.
Preferred:
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Certification in maintenance management or related field.
- Familiarity with safety regulations specific to logging operations.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and software for equipment maintenance.
- Understanding of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience with data analysis and performance metrics to assess equipment efficiency.
