Role Overview
We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and lead our maintenance team in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our heavy machinery fleet. This role is critical in maintaining operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement initiatives within our maintenance processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the maintenance team, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational procedures
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life expectancy
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of heavy equipment to identify potential issues and plan necessary repairs
- Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory
- Provide training and mentorship to team members to foster skill development and promote a culture of safety and excellence
- Utilize data analysis and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, including supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in heavy machinery
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions
- Familiarity with maintenance management software systems
Preferred:
- Technical certifications in heavy equipment maintenance, such as ASE or equivalent
- Experience with managing budgets and resources effectively
- Background in a construction, mining, or industrial environment
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting
- Experience with maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS)
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in equipment maintenance
