Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Log Grading Supervisor to oversee our log grading operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and optimal quality control. In this fully remote position, you will play a key role in managing the grading process, training team members, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all log grading activities, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards
- Develop and implement grading criteria and processes that align with regulatory requirements and company objectives
- Train and mentor team members in log assessment techniques and grading procedures
- Conduct regular audits of grading practices to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any quality issues and enhance operational efficiency
- Analyze grading data and generate reports to monitor performance and inform decision-making
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in log grading or a related field, with a proven track record of quality assurance
- In-depth knowledge of log grading standards and practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred:
- Experience in a supervisory role within the forestry or timber industry
- Familiarity with relevant software tools for data analysis and reporting
