Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Library Cataloging Assistant to join our team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. - Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in the organization of library materials on shelves.
- Provide support in the training of volunteers or interns in cataloging procedures as necessary.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree in Library Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with cataloging standards and practices in a library setting.
Preferred:
- Experience using integrated library systems (ILS) such as Koha, Sierra, or similar.
- Knowledge of metadata standards and practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and library management software.
- Experience with data entry and management in electronic formats.
- Basic understanding of bibliographic databases and online catalogs.
