Role Overview
We are seeking a distinguished and visionary Endowed Chair Professor of Library and Information Science to lead innovative research and educational initiatives within our esteemed program. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of library science through advanced scholarship, community engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration. You will be responsible for developing a compelling research agenda and mentoring the next generation of information professionals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a robust research agenda that addresses critical issues in library and information science, contributing to the advancement of the field.
- Teach graduate-level courses in library and information science, integrating innovative teaching methodologies and technologies.
- Mentor and guide faculty and students, promoting a culture of academic excellence and research productivity.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to enhance community partnerships and foster engagement initiatives that address local and global information needs.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university governance, contributing to strategic planning and program development.
- Secure external funding through grants and partnerships to support research and educational initiatives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
