Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lay Health Advocate who will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between healthcare providers and underserved communities. This position focuses on empowering individuals by providing education, resources, and support to enhance access to healthcare services and improve health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between healthcare organizations and community members to promote health education and awareness.
- Conduct outreach activities to engage and educate community members about available health services.
- Assist individuals in navigating the healthcare system, including scheduling appointments and understanding health insurance options.
- Provide culturally sensitive support and resources to address health disparities within the community.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and follow-up services for community members.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in public health or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in community outreach, health education, or advocacy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
Preferred:
- Experience working in healthcare or public health settings.
- Familiarity with local health resources and community organizations.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
