Role Overview
As the VP of Inventory Operations at [$COMPANY_NAME], you will lead the strategic vision and execution of our inventory management processes across multiple channels. Responsibilities
- Design and implement an overarching inventory strategy that supports business objectives and improves overall inventory health
- Oversee and refine inventory processes, including procurement, warehousing, and distribution, to ensure seamless operations
- Utilize advanced analytics and forecasting techniques to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory
- Lead cross-functional collaboration between supply chain, sales, and finance teams to ensure alignment on inventory goals and performance metrics
- Establish and monitor KPIs to gauge inventory performance, driving accountability and continuous improvement
- Mentor and develop a high-performing inventory operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in inventory management or supply chain operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of implementing successful inventory strategies that resulted in measurable improvements
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making and financial acumen
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders across the organization
Preferred:
- Experience with inventory management systems and ERP software such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced retail or e-commerce environment
- Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in inventory optimization techniques and methodologies
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or Tableau for inventory reporting and forecasting
- Familiarity with supply chain management software and technologies
