Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in delivering innovative and sustainable roadway solutions. This role is critical in overseeing the design, development, and execution of highway projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage highway engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, urban planners, and environmental specialists, to ensure project alignment with overall objectives.
- Review and approve design plans, specifications, and construction documents to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to identify project constraints and opportunities for improvement.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the team.
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, government agencies, and community organizations, to facilitate project success.
- Implement innovative engineering practices and technologies to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in highway design and project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, roadway design standards, and construction methods.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with advanced modeling software and design tools, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or HEC-RAS.
- Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and sustainability practices in transportation projects.
