Responsibilities

- Conduct regular inspections and audits of hazardous waste storage areas and workspaces to ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain training programs for employees on hazardous materials handling and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate incidents and accidents involving hazardous materials, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess risk and develop safety policies that align with industry best practices.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and documentation related to hazardous waste management and compliance.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in hazardous materials management or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding hazardous materials and waste management.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs focused on hazardous materials handling and safety protocols.
Preferred:
- Certification in hazardous materials management (e.g., HAZWOPER, CHMM).
- Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and implement effective solutions.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of hazardous materials management software and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Knowledge of incident reporting systems and risk assessment methodologies.
