Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Hardware Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers in the design, development, and production of cutting-edge hardware solutions. This role will play a critical part in driving innovation and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products that align with our strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of hardware engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Oversee the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept through to production, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Define and implement engineering best practices, processes, and methodologies to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, product management, and quality assurance to define requirements and ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
- Develop and manage project timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments to proactively address potential challenges.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide guidance to team members, facilitating their professional growth and development.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing hardware products to market, including experience with product lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit design, and embedded systems.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies, including Agile/Scrum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with consumer electronics or IoT hardware development.
- Familiarity with design validation and reliability testing methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in PCB design and layout using tools such as Altium or KiCAD.
- Proficiency in simulation tools and software for circuit analysis.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards for hardware products, including FCC, CE, and RoHS compliance.
