Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Hardware Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in designing and developing cutting-edge hardware solutions. In this fully remote role, you will oversee a team of talented engineers, drive innovation, and ensure the successful execution of hardware projects that align with our strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of hardware engineers, fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration
- Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products while adhering to budget constraints
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, product management, and quality assurance to define hardware requirements and specifications
- Drive the hardware design process from concept to production, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices
- Facilitate design reviews, risk assessments, and failure analysis to continuously improve product reliability and performance
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, applying them to enhance product offerings and operational efficiencies
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in hardware engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- Proven track record of successfully leading hardware development projects from inception to production
- Strong knowledge of hardware design principles, circuit design, PCB layout, and manufacturing processes
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience with embedded systems, IoT devices, or consumer electronics
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools
- Experience in developing hardware for regulated industries (e.g., medical, automotive)
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in hardware design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence, or similar)
- Proficiency in simulation and modeling software (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB, or similar)
- Knowledge of RF design, power management, and signal integrity principles
- Familiarity with compliance testing and certification processes (e.g., CE, FCC)
