Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Hadoop Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable Hadoop ecosystems that support advanced analytics and big data processing. In this critical role, you will leverage your expertise to architect solutions that drive data-driven decision-making across the organization while ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust Hadoop architectures that support diverse data sources and analytics workloads
- Lead the integration of Hadoop with various data ingestion and processing tools, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Develop and enforce best practices for data governance, security, and compliance within the Hadoop environment
- Optimize Hadoop cluster performance and resource utilization through monitoring and tuning
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on Hadoop-related technologies and methodologies
- Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in big data technologies to continuously enhance the architecture
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture, with a strong focus on Hadoop technologies
- Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale Hadoop ecosystems
- Deep understanding of Hadoop components including HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, and Spark
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with Hadoop
Preferred:
- Experience with real-time data processing frameworks like Apache Kafka or Apache Flink
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and their integration with Hadoop ecosystems
- Relevant certifications in Hadoop or big data technologies
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in Hadoop ecosystem tools such as HBase, Sqoop, and Flume
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python for data processing
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles and design patterns
