Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Greenhouse Manager to support the operations of our state-of-the-art greenhouse facilities. In this role, you will collaborate with the Greenhouse Manager to maintain optimal growing conditions, oversee plant health, and ensure efficient production processes that align with our sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of day-to-day greenhouse operations, including climate control, irrigation, fertilization, and pest management
- Monitor and evaluate plant growth and health, implementing corrective measures as necessary
- Support the implementation of sustainable practices to maximize resource efficiency and minimize waste
- Collaborate with the Greenhouse Manager to develop and execute production schedules that meet organizational goals
- Train and supervise greenhouse staff, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols
- Maintain accurate records of plant growth, material usage, and environmental conditions for reporting and regulatory compliance
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agricultural Science, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in greenhouse operations or plant management
- Strong understanding of plant biology, nutrition, and pest management
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred:
- Experience with hydroponic or aquaponic growing systems
- Knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices
- Familiarity with greenhouse automation technologies
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using greenhouse management software and environmental control systems
- Ability to analyze data related to plant growth and greenhouse conditions
- Experience with irrigation systems and nutrient delivery methods
