Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Grain Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will support the sourcing and purchasing of grain products, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials essential for our operations. Responsibilities
- Assist in the procurement of grain products by evaluating supplier options, negotiating prices, and placing purchase orders.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about pricing trends, supply availability, and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize inventory levels and ensure timely deliveries of grain products.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier communications, and market conditions.
- Support the Senior Grain Buyers in developing and executing procurement strategies to meet organizational goals.
- Participate in supplier performance evaluations and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data related to market trends and pricing.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on building relationships.
Preferred:
- 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles within the agricultural sector.
- Familiarity with grain markets and pricing models.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with procurement software.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Understanding of market analysis tools and procurement software.
- Ability to leverage data analytics to inform purchasing decisions.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management tools.
